And just like that Summer is over. Goodbye triple digit temps, hello 80s and 90s. We've missed you. Unfortunately the days are getting shorter too, which means weekday night rides are back on heavy rotation.

Keep it safe out there on the road kids. Having good lights are a must, just in case you have to make an emergency bunny hop over a baby owl on the bike trail (true story).

Today, underneath a beautiful Southern California summer sun (74degrees and not a cloud in the sky, if you're wondering) I went on a lunch ride with a cadre of coworkers at Oakley. This weekly group ride was advertised as being "intended for all skill level", but felt intermediate to me. It's been at least a couple of months since I've ridden the mountain bike and I felt it. I think I finished last? In short...

Pace...fast.
Breath...short.
Knuckles...white.
Heart...racing.
Face...flushed.
Smile...big.

This is going to be a long one. Will I make it in less than 6 hours and 22 minutes as guesstimated by Google? Will I get lost on the way? Will I be able to do any sort of physical activity once I get to the beach? Will I even get the chance to do it? I sure hope so.

Is there anything more awesome than this? Rear tire is a little low on air, but she is on a Raleigh, good choice.

I passed through Copenhagen once on my way to Germany, would have liked to spend a day there, rent a bike, and cruise the city. There's no better way to explore a new city than on a bicycle.
